Sublimation Printing

Weightless printing with Vibrant Details and endless colors

Lightweight, "Zero Feel" Printing

Dye Sublimation allows full-color, near-photo-quality images to be dyed onto sublimated-able surfaces.  This is particularly nice on moisture-wicking shirts and garments. By dying the shirt instead of printing ON TOP of the shirt, the moisture-wicking properties of the shirt are maintained.  Unlike screen printing there is no cost for each color and art can be as detailed as you desire. This process must be applied to light-colored polyesters, as the process is dying the material and not printing on it.

What is Sublimation?

Sublimation printing has become increasingly popular in the world of custom apparel. This innovative printing technique offers a range of benefits that make it a preferred choice for many businesses and individuals. From vibrant colors to long-lasting prints, sublimation printing offers a unique and high-quality solution for custom apparel needs.

One of the key advantages of sublimation printing is its ability to produce vibrant and eye-catching colors. Unlike traditional printing methods, sublimation printing allows for the transfer of full-color designs onto fabric. This means that even the most intricate and detailed designs can be accurately reproduced with stunning clarity. The colors are not only vivid but also long-lasting, ensuring that the custom apparel remains vibrant even after multiple washes.

Another benefit of sublimation printing is its versatility. This printing technique can be used on a wide range of fabrics, including polyester, which is commonly used in sportswear and activewear. The sublimation process involves the use of heat to transfer the design onto the fabric, resulting in a permanent bond. This means that the print will not crack, fade, or peel over time, ensuring that the custom apparel maintains its quality and appearance for an extended period.

In addition to its vibrant colors and durability, sublimation printing also offers a high level of customization. With this technique, it is possible to print designs on every inch of the fabric, including the sleeves, collar, and even the inside of the garment. This level of customization allows for endless possibilities, making it ideal for businesses looking to create unique and personalized apparel for their employees or promotional events.

Furthermore, sublimation printing is a cost-effective solution for custom apparel needs. Unlike traditional screen printing, which requires separate screens for each color, sublimation printing allows for the printing of multiple colors in a single pass. This not only saves time but also reduces the overall cost of production. Additionally, sublimation printing eliminates the need for setup fees and minimum order quantities, making it accessible to businesses of all sizes.

Sublimation FAQ

There is rarely a volume discount on sublimated garments. This is because there are no economies of scale. Each shirt takes the same amount of materials and time to produce. Orders over 500 receive a discount on the cost of the blank shirts but not on the printing.

At High Winds Graphix we prefer to work on garments and items we obtain from our suppliers. We use clothing and items that have been tested and proven to provide quality decorated results. Sometimes we may experience unexpected results on untested material. We may have a misunderstanding about the color or placement of the design.

If we have supplied the garment or item, we have calculated a margin of error in the cost and will replace it. We cannot replace garments or items we have not sold or provided. If you supply the garment or item and there is a problem, we do not replace your item. Your damaged piece will be returned to you as is. Problems do not arise often, but the customer must be aware and agree to the possibility.
